Complete/Partial Dentures

Patients who are missing all or some of their teeth have the option of wearing a removable denture. This allows patients to take them out for cleaning before they go to sleep. Dentures are a good option for people who are not candidates for dental implants or bridges.

Complete dentures are a removable dental prosthesis that replaces all of the natural teeth in the arch. The denture is usually made of acrylic and is completely supported by the mouth tissues, check muscles and tongue.

Types of Complete Denture:

Immediate Dentures are made prior to your teeth extractions and placed as soon as the teeth are removed.

Conventional Dentures are made after complete removal of teeth and healing of the gums

Difference between Immediate and Conventional Dentures?

Immediate dentures offer instant teeth after your extractions. The lab assumes how your tissues will heal and sometimes after 6 months you may need a reline (addition of material to the denture to conform to how your tissues have healed).  The advantage is you do not need to go without teeth during the 6-8 week.  Whereas, conventional dentures conform to your already healed tissues as the process of fabricating these dentures starts after you have completely healed from the extraction.

Partial Dentures are a removable dental prosthesis that restore one or more, but not all, of the natural teeth. It is supported by both the teeth and the mucosa. The partial denture is made from metal and acrylic. Partial dentures are retained by being attached to existing teeth with metal clasps.
